Minister of Economy & Trade


Born in Choueifat in 1975. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), he holds a Bachelor degree in Economics and a Masters degree in Money and Banking from the American University of Beirut (AUB). He held the post of Minister of Economy & Trade in the government of Lebanon formed by Prime Minister Saad Hariri since December 18th, 2016. During his term he established the appropriate frameworks to set up a comprehensive economic plan for Lebanon that clearly defines Lebanon’s economic identity for the upcoming years, enhances the productive sectors in Lebanon, insures sustainable development in all Lebanese regions , and consequently diversifies and increases the size of the economy. At the beginning of 2018, the Government launched the work on the economic plan in order to achieve the set goals and objectives. Minister Khoury enjoys an extensive and diversified banking and financial experience with a focus on Wealth Management, Investment Banking Services and Brokerage. Minister Khoury is one of the Founders of Cedrus Invest Bank and Cedrus Bank sal. As a former director at Barclays Wealth, he was in charge of a team of Bankers covering the MENA and Gulf regions. He spent more than 7 years at Bank Audi Group where he held managerial positions in banking services covering Lebanon, Switzerland and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He is married to Carole Abi Habib and has two children: Ray and Karen.

About AH Financial Consultancy

In the last decade, financial insecurity became the first problem facing everyone, especially students, employees & entrepreneurs worldwide.

However, this problem is significantly rising in the MENA region pushing its young population to choose immigration as a solution to their financial problems.

“AH Financial Consultancy” and “Cash Flow Factory”, we believe that the solution must start from providing a perfect Financial Education to our society in order for every individual to find their own financial solutions.

Dr. Rock-Antoine Mehanna

Dean of the School of Business and Economics – Sagesse University


Dr. Rock-Antoine Mehanna is the Dean of the School of Business and Economics at Sagesse University, President of The World Economics Association – Lebanon Chapter, and Full Professor of Business & Economic Strategy. He has previously taught at major universities in the United States, where he has received his graduate studies and professional training. Dean Mehanna still lectures at major American, French, and Lebanese universities. He holds a Ph.D. in Business & Economic Strategy (with High Distinction), an MBA in Finance (with Academic Excellence Award), and a B.S. in Business and Economics. Dean Mehanna’s consultancy, research, and teaching experiences are in business and economic strategy, international business development, international trade, economic development, and doing business in the Middle East.  He is the author of ten books and has published over seventy articles in international refereed journals, as well as presided over numerous sessions at international conferences. He is frequently cited and interviewed for his expert opinion by such media outlets as the Associated Press, CNBC, and CNN, among others. He serves on the editorial boards of several international refereed journals published in the U.S. and Europe, as well as a consultant to a number of business corporations, non-governmental organizations, and multinational agencies, including, The World Bank and The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). Dr. Mehanna gives lectures and consulting advice in the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East, among others.  He is the recipient of the 2007 Best Business and Economic Researcher in the Middle East and was awarded the 2013/2014 B-School Asian Leadership Award.

Dr. Pierre Khoury

Eminent senior academician with 3 decades of experience in administrative functions, education management, research & development, business generation and management consultancy amongst others across diverse organizational domains like banking, finance, public sector, trade and consultancy. Distinguished publisher of 40 scientific papers in international referred journals and 4 books primarily focused on education management.

Mr. Ziad Shaaban

Director of AUB Continuing Education Center


Ziad Shaaban, EMBA, ITIL, Prince II, Director of AUB Continuing Education Center, 22 years of experience in UN agencies, government, IT, academia, consulting and continuing education, possess extensive experience in strategic planning, IT management, systems analysis, capacity building, change management & business development. As Director of AUB CEC, the center had a major growth in its offerings, partnerships & number of students. He served as an Advisor to the Minister of Education & Higher Education in Lebanon, Chairman of the Board of Hayat International School, Board Member of PMI Lebanon Chapter, & Special Advisor for the Board of Social Welfare Institution Dar Al Aytam.

Mrs. Mirna Shidrawi

Manager of the AMIDEAST Entrepreneur Institute


Mirna Shidrawi is currently the Manager of the AMIDEAST Entrepreneur Institute.  Mirna brings in more than 15 years of international development experience from Lebanon and the region with a focus on organizational development and capacity building.  Mirna has worked for years in helping public, private, and non-governmental organizations improve their performance through in-depth participatory analysis.  Mirna has also designed trainings and trained – in Lebanon, the Arab world, and the Balkans – more than 500 trainees on all issues related to performance improvement, organizational development, democracy strengthening, elections, and good governance.  With a passion to make this world a better place for everyone, Mirna has actively been involved in many public initiatives around the country and urges everyone she meets to become an active citizen.  She holds a Master’s degree in Political Science and Public Administration from the American University in Beirut.

Dr. Ghina Tabsh

CEO and Managing Partner at RPS


Dr. Tabsh is the CEO and Managing Partner at RPS, a research, consulting and training boutique firm. She is an expertin data analysis and applied econometrics. Over the years, she trained and consulted universities, NGOs and international organizations.She has over 9 years of teaching experienceatAUB and other universities in Lebanon. Dr. Tabsh has vast knowledge in the educational, leadership, entrepreneurship and management aspects.

Valuation methods and financial analysis, modeling and reporting training programs targetting a wide range of participants from youth all the way to financial analysts, CFOs and investors. This is a part of our plan to reach out via partnerships to numerous markets and fields of work through our pool of experts locally and regionally.

Mr. Tarek Zebian

Director of Research and Communication – Capital Markets Authority


Prior to his appointment as Director of Research and Communication at the Capital Markets Authority, Mr. Zebian has worked with Banque Du Liban (BDL – Central Bank of Lebanon) in the Payment Systems Department, and Real Estate and Financial Assets Department.


At the BDL Real Estate and Financial Assets Department (REFA 2006-2009), Mr. Zebian was a member of the team overseeing the performance of financial assets and companies owned by the Central Bank (mainly MidClear, Middle East Airlines, Casino Du Liban…etc), as well as part of the team overseeing the financial investments of the Central Bank in International Financial institutions; and a member of the team that handled monthly research issued by the REFA department to the Open Market Committee at Banque Du Liban.


As part of the BDL Payment Systems Department (PSD 2010 – 2014), Mr. Zebian strictly focused on the development of the National Payment System in Lebanon – a project dedicated to upgrading the Lebanese Payments Infrastructure to International Standards. As part of his many tasks with the PSD, Mr. Zebian was a main contributor to the High Value BDL-RTGS Payment system rules and procedures (BDL Basic Circular 127/2012) in accordance with the legal department at the Central Bank. Mr. Zebian was also engaged in training market participants on the newly launched payment systems; overseeing the effective integration of banks through validating operational requirements and infrastructure readiness, and their abilities to cope with new set standards.


In 2009, while studying in the United Kingdom, Mr. Zebian joined the investment bank Barclays Capital, where he worked within the team of studies and research on Emerging Markets, in the period of the global financial crisis. Mr. Zebian holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the American University of Beirut (AUB) and MSc from The London School of Economics and Political Science, and is a winner of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum order of merit in 2008.

Mrs. Nada Tawil

Head of Group Communication Department – Byblos Bank


Nada Tawil has over twenty-five years of experience in the Middle East’s Marketing and Advertising scenes. A seasoned expert in Brand Communication, she has held a number of key positions in high-profile regional companies including Grey Worldwide, JWT, and Zain Telecom.
For the past ten years, she has been heading the Group Communication Department at Byblos Bank for Lebanon, and eight other countries where the bank operates.

Mrs. Nina Abi Fadel

Founder & Managing Director – EVENTA Social Impact & Value


Nina is a project management consultant with over 16 years of experience in the design and facilitation of large‐scale events and development programs for corporate, private, governmental and non‐governmental organizations.

In addition to her work with clients, Nina emphasizes on conceptualizing and implementing EVENTA’s own social impact programs, the most recent being MONEYSMART a new program in the Middle East that promotes financial literacy through experiential training Boot Camps specially designed for all types of audiences and mainly targeting youth just about to enter the workforce. She also launched an initiative for Breast Cancer Complementary therapies to create an exchange platform to share experiences and information;this initiative will soon expand into a full-fledged health and wellness platform in Lebanon and Middle East.Some other social impact programs that were conceptualized by EVENTA include the National Career Fair and World Days Celebration that toured nationwide reaching over150,000 students in public schools.  Additionally, EVENTA published The Little Book of the Phoenician Alphabet, produced and published with the objective of promoting Lebanese Cultural Heritage.

Nina is committed to the vision of actively working on meeting sustainable development goals for local and global communities and to collaborating with like-minded individuals and organizations on projects and events that make a difference and that have a positive social impact.

Mrs. Sarah Abdallah

Founder & CEO at LIBRO


Sarah graduated as a telecom engineer in 2011 from ESIB, USJ. She has seven years of experience as a senior technical consultant and team leader at Murex Systems and five years of volunteering experience with more than six social organizations working on women and youth empowerment.

Sarah is a fellow youth advisory council member at the US embassy in Beirut, fellow youth leader at the Swedish institute of Alexandria, Techwomen Alumni, and Global Shaper at the World Economic Forum.

She is currently handling the following positions: Career Coach at USJ, Co-lead At Facebook DevCircle Beirut, Head of partnerships & events at HultPrize Lebanon. She has founded as well a social enterprise named LIBRO whose mission is to turn youth challenges into opportunities since she believes that youth is one of the main drivers of change on all levels.

Mr. Abdallah Harfouch

Abdallah Harfouch is an economist and financial market analyst and founder of AH Financial Consultancy.

He strives to increase the financial literacy rate to support the rise of the entrepreneurship spirit around the world and fight economic mislead.

He believes that improving the overall financial situation starts with each person: his flagship training “How to Manage your Money” aims at improving the relationship of individuals with their finances.

Mrs. Pascale Chemaly

TV Presenter


Pascale is a PHD holder in performing Arts, experienced Academic Instructor with proven skills working with students from diverse academic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds. Moreover she is a Professional Media consultant and TV host.

Pascale is strongly committed to the area of the academic field, where she teaches at different Universities in Lebanon, indifferent fields of Marketing, Communications and Media, she also is an assistant professor at Cass University Paris for the DBA program since 2016. She has been chosen by the American Embassy in Lebanon to represent her country in USA at Ohio University where she had 2 certificates in advanced studies in the Media field from Ohio University and the state department in U.S. She gave a class about Media in Lebanon for the International Media course and she was chosen to participate in AEJMC international conference in Chicago to give a conference about Public Diplomacy/ Nation Branding targeting participants from 16 different countries. Additionally, she is a TV host, where she presents a morning show at OTV. She is the President of an NGO called REC: Research, Education and Cultural association that helps Lebanese students to pursue there education.

Currently the host of Alam Al Sabah, Future TV’s live morning show for 25 years. Presented several programs ranging from entertainment reality and game shows, nighttime television, talk shows, cultural and educational shows, international festivals and conferences. Fresh face in the drama and comedy Lebanese industry, known for his lead roles in 5 television series and 1 cinema movie.
